PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To always carry out timer communication even in a state where the application of a main power supply is cut due to a power interruption, etc., a backup power supply is also cut and the data/time information stored in an image communication device is not controlled. SOLUTION: When the power supplied from a main power supply 115 is cut to an image communication device and then the power is supplied again to the communication device, it is decided whether the time designating communication is carried out according to the date/time information as long as these information which are managed in a timer 106A of a sub-CPU 106 are ineffective. When the time designating communication is carried out, a fact that the unexcecuted time designating communication is recognized is notified to a user.
