PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce and make unnecessary a linking area recording useless data by precise recording position control so as to effectively use a recording area and to prevent an increase of a low frequency component of a record pulse train. SOLUTION: When recording information is recorded on a DVD-R1 having a pre-pit formed at a prescribed interval in an area between tracks, an encoder 12 generates first synchronizing information so that a synchronous pattern becomes a space and second synchronizing information suppressing the low frequency component of the record pulse train, and generates a recording position control signal based on a pre-pit position signal detected from the DVD-R1, and converts a modulation code resulting from modulating the recording information according to a prescribed modulation rule while inserting a side selected from the two synchronizing information into the record pulse train and starts the output of the recording pulse train according to the recording position control signal. |
