PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a reproducing device for a card type optical recording medium which can drive respective mechanisms, etc., without using any motor. SOLUTION: This reproducing device reproduces information from an optically readable card type optical recording medium 6 inserted into an insertion slot 30 and has an optical information read part 34 which scans the optical recording medium to read the information out, a medium ejecting mechanism 36 which ejects the optical recording medium after reading it, and a curvature correcting mechanism 38 which presses the optical recording medium in contact and leaves it and thus corrects the curvature of the optical recording medium. This reproducing device is provided with a driving force accumulating gear mechanism 40 composed of gears 50 to 58 which can engage with and disengage from one another and elastic members 60 and 62 which accumulate as elastic force the force generated at the time of the medium insertion by the rotation of the gears, and the force generated when the optical recording medium is inserted is accumulated in the gear mechanism and released in specific timing to obtain driving forces for the individual mechanisms and rear part. |
