PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light weight sealed lead acid battery having a reduced amount of lead powder to be used for a negative electrode plate by increasing the utilization factor of a negative electrode active material. SOLUTION: An active paste material for a negative electrode plate, containing 0.2-2.0% by mass of acetylene black having an average particle size of 0.1 μm or smaller and 0.05-0.2% by mass of graphite having an average particle size of 1 μm or larger in terms of a lead powder is prepared. The paste active material is filled in a lead alloy collector, aged and dried to produce a paste negative electrode plate. The paste negative electrode plate is used for manufacturing the sealed lead acid battery. |
