PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a foreign matter checking method for checking foreign matter of a material to be checked such as a resin piece by a checking device such as a microscope. SOLUTION: According to this checking method for foreign matter using a check device constructed so that in a checking region of the checking device 100, a material 300 to be checked is stored and a transparent container 200 filled with inert solution 400 is installed to check the material 300 to be checked, the material 300 to be checked is dipped in the inert solution 400, so that entering of foreign matter from the outside to the material 300 to be checked can be effectively prevented by a simple means.
