PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a microwave oven constituted so that a projection part does not hinder opening of a door, in regard to the microwave oven, wherein the projection part provided in the rear of the door is fitted in a hole provided in the main body when the door is closed, and the closure of the door is detected from that. SOLUTION: In this microwave oven, a lever body 13 which has the projection part 9 formed in one end and rotates around a shaft 12 and a spring 14 which biases the lever body 13 in the direction of embedding the projection part 9 are provided inside the door 5. When the door 5 is closed, the lever body 13 comes into contact with a hinge 4 at the other end 17 and rotates and the projection part 9 projects from an opening 11.
