PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a mobile terminal authentication system that prevents forgery and illegal use of the mobile terminal. SOLUTION: A processor 600 of a mobile terminal 60 stores a processor number which is a serial number specific to the processor 600. An authentication code generating section 604 generates an authentication code from the processor number and an authentication number given from a distribution provider of a mobile communication system to the mobile terminal 60 and stores the code to a storage section 640. This authentication code is also registered in a home location register 10. The mobile terminal 60 conducts authentication calculation between a random number from a mobile communication control center 20 and the authentication code in the storage section 640, and transmits the result of authentication arithmetic operation to the mobile communication control center 20. At the same time, the home location register 10 conducts authentication arithmetic operation for the registered authentication code and the authentication random number from the mobile communication control center 20 and transmits the result of authentication arithmetic operation to the mobile communication control center 20. The mobile communication control center 20 compares both the authentication arithmetic operation results and authenticates the mobile terminal, when both match.
