PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To eliminate a problem short-circuiting of a positive plate group and a negative plate rack due to a phenomenon of expanding positive plates at d/h of 0.15 or less when the distance between the negative plate rack and the positive plate group is d and the height of the positive plate is h in a sealed lead acid battery using lead-calcium-tin as a positive grid. SOLUTION: In the sealed lead-acid battery, a short circuit of the positive plate 1 and the negative plate rack strap 7 is prevented by positioning an acid- resistant insulating member 8 between the negative plate rack 7 and the positive plate 1 group.
