PURPOSE: A liquid crystal display for a thin film transistor is to modify a structure of a shield layer disposed between a data line and a pixel electrode in order to repair a connection of all data lines, thereby preventing a reduction of production yields by a connection defect of the data lines. CONSTITUTION: The liquid crystal display for a thin film transistor includes a transparent insulating layer(1) on which a plurality of gate lines and data lines intersect each other. A pixel electrode(4) is disposed in a pixel region that is defined by the gate lines and the data lines. A thin film transistor(10) is arranged on a portion where the gate lines and the data lines intersect. In order to isolate parasitic capacitance generated between the data line and the pixel electrode, and transmitted light through a region between the data line and the pixel electrode where a shield layer is disposed. Two adjacent shield layers on both sides of the data lines are connected each other in a ring shape as to partially overlap the data lines.
