The invention relates to an increased life sleeper for the fixing of the rails of railway tracks, which have holes for accepting the bolts suitable for fixing down the rails, and in the hole there is an insert body situated between the bolt and the sleeper. The characteristic feature of the invention is that between the sleeper (20) hole (21) and the insert body (30) an afterhardening binding material (40) is placed and the insert body (30) is made from a solid wood peg (31) that has been saturated with impregnation material or from a plastic block (32) that has an internal thread (33).
