<p>A SINR meter (108) measures a signal to interference ratio based on the output from an A/D converter (104) and the output from an interference canceler (108). The field strength detector (111) computes the absolute field strength of a desired signal based on the signal to interference ratio and on the field strength of the received signal measured by a field strength meter (109). A comparator (112) compares the absolutely field strength with a predetermined target value. The gain generator (113) computes a gain factor based on the result of comparison provided by the comparator (112) and controls the gain of an AGC (103) precisely to prevent the degradation of reception quality.</p> |
