PURPOSE: A controlling method for a fuel amount is provided to control fuel amount through estimating the inner temperature of an engine according to temperature of exhaust gas. CONSTITUTION: Change in temperature of exhaust gas is measured while varying air fuel ratio for calculating first compensate values according to relationship between changes in the air fuel ratio and the exhaust gas temperature. Change in temperature of exhaust gas is measured while varying ignition time for calculating second compensate values according to relationship between changes in the ignition time and the exhaust gas temperature. An air fuel ratio is measured through measuring an air amount in a present traveling state. Then, temperature of the exhaust gas is measured according to oxygen amount detected in an exhaust system. Then, one value is selected from the first compensate values according to the temperature of the exhaust gas. In case of the calculated air fuel ratio under a reference air fuel ratio, fuel amount is reduced according to the first compensate value. In case of the calculated air fuel ratio over the reference value, the fuel amount is increased according to the first compensate value.
