<p>An automatic speed changer controller capable of improving the durability of a continuously variable speed changer (10) and increasing torque transmission efficiency, an automatic speed changer control method, and a recording medium having a program for the method recorded thereon. The device comprises a primary pulley (126), a secondary pulley (131), a belt (132) passed around the primary and secondary pulleys (126, 131), a holding pressure generating means for generating a holding pressure on the belt (132), a travel environment detecting means (91) for detecting the travel environment for the vehicle, a torque variation prediction processing means (92) for predicting variations in the transmission torque on the basis of the detected travel environment during traveling, and a holding pressure change processing means (93) for changing the holding pressure on the basis of the prediction result. Since variations in the transmission torque during traveling are predicted and the holding pressure on the belt (132) is changed on the basis of the prediction result, it is possible to prevent the holding pressure from increasing at any moment. Therefore, it is possible to increase torque transmission efficiency and improve fuel efficiency.</p> |
