A production method of a glass panel and the glass panel, being excellent in appearance due to inconspicuous projections from the surface of sheet glass, being prevented from damages by contacts with other objects, and being capable of positively sealing a suction hole with a comparatively simple method, wherein many spacers (2) are interposed between a pair of glass sheets (1A, 1B) and portions between the both glass sheets (1A, 1B) are sealed with an outer peripheral seal element (3) to form clearance portions (V), a suction hole (4) for depressurizing the clearance portions (V) is provided in one glass sheet (1A), and, after gas in the clearance portions (V) is sucked out via the suction hole (4), the suction hole (4) is sealed, a metal solder (6) being used for a sealant for the suction hole (4), a metal solder piece (6A) being heat-melted in the vicinity of the suction hole (4), an oxide film (6a) on the surface of the metal solder piece (6A) being broken to allow the interior metal solder (6) to flow out, the flowed-out metal solder (6) being contacted directly with the glass sheet (1A) for cooling and solidifying to thereby seal the suction hole (4).
