PURPOSE: A method for manufacturing an axle shaft for a vehicle is provided to largely reduce a manufacturing cost and prevent deformation of products due to a thermal treatment by removing a thermal treatment process, and to improve productivity by reducing waste of energy and expenses. CONSTITUTION: A method for manufacturing an axle shaft for the vehicle includes the steps of preparing bar material for a flange and bar material for a shaft and forming the flange by heating and forging the bar material for flange, welding the forged flange with the bar material for shaft, processing a round portion and a parallel portion of the bar materials for flange and shaft to have a shape of the axle shaft, and hardening the surface by quenching with high frequency through the whole surface of the bar materials.
