The time lapse between the irradiation of a first reference point (20) and the irradiation of a second reference point (22) is measured. A predetermined angle is determined with the movement of a beam between the reference points based on angular velocity and measured time lapse. The gap between a detector (12,14) and the radiation point (18) of a laser (4) is computed through a trigonometrical calculation. An Independent claim is also included for a measurement device.
