摘要 PURPOSE: A vertical alignment mode liquid crystal display device is to compensate for a refractive index anisotropy of liquid crystal molecular without any process of forming a domain. CONSTITUTION: An upper substrate(20) is spaced apart from a lower substrate(10) by a predetermined distance. A liquid crystal layer(30) disposed between the upper substrate and the lower substrate includes a plurality of liquid crystal molecular(30a,30b) having a negative permittivity anisotropy. A pixel electrode(12) is formed on an inner side of the lower substrate. A counter electrode(22) formed on an inner side of the upper substrate forms an electric field for activating the liquid crystal molecular. The first vertical alignment layer(14) is disposed between the pixel electrode and the liquid crystal layer. The second vertical alignment layer(24) is disposed between the counter electrode and the liquid crystal layer. A polarizer having a polarization axis is disposed on an outer face of the upper substrate. A resolution layer(26) having an absorption axis perpendicular to the polarization axis is disposed on an outer face of the lower substrate. The first vertical alignment layer has a rubbing axis.
