<p>A catheter with a balloon characterized by comprising a double-structure tube consisting of an inner tube and an outer tube disposed concentrically, and a balloon fixed at one end thereof to the inner tube and at other end to the outer tube, and by satisfying one of the following requirements (A), (B): (A) An air vent tube is not provided between the outer and inner tubes, the outer diameter of the outer tube is up to 4 mm, and an average bending moment at a bending angle of 45 deg. in a region up to 40 cm from the tip end of the tube ranges from 70 to 250 g?cm. (B) The inner diameter d3 of a balloon-extending pipe stop provided at the tip end of the inner tube and the inner diameter d4 of a balloon-extending pipe inserted into the inner tube and coming in contact with the balloon-extending pipe stop to extend the balloon and reduce its diameter are practically in a step-free range. The above arrangement makes it possible to reduce the tube diameters of a catheter with a balloon, reduce the number of required parts, improve an operation performance when the tip end of the catheter with the balloon is inserted into an incision portion in a blood vessel, and enhance a moving operation performance within a blood vessel.</p> |
