Power stations operated with gas-turbines are used and have been used for many years but are characterized by heavy emissions of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere. Operating power stations with biomass is possible and is becoming increasingly feasible, and an external gas former is used. A gas-turbine is driven with the sulfurous gases from the biomass (wood, straw and other combustible self-regenerating materials), and the mechanical energy of the turbine is used for driving e.g. a generator. The hot waste-gas of the turbine is used for heating a steam generator for driving a steam turbine which in turn delivers mechanical energy for driving e.g. a generator.
