The front axle consists of two hub carriers (4) hinged to the vehicle chassis (2) by axle bolts (8) to carry the wheels (3). The hub carriers are linked via arms (5) to a movable trackrod (6) and the shaft (1) is hinged by bearings (9) to the chassis (2) and is so geared to the trackrod that the wheel position necessarily follows the movement of the shaft (1). Hinged to the shaft by bearing (10) at the end furthest from the bearing (9) is a steering rod (7) which is hinged in turn to the free end of a steering arm (11) hinged onto one of the hub carriers (4). A holding block fixed to the trackrod (6) rides in a guide slot in the shaft (1).
