Vancomycin preparations (in particular, freeze dried preparations) produced by a conventional production process without resort to any organic solvents so as to prevent vancomycin from chemical decomposition, having a high stability and a high solubility and showing a relieved renal toxicity. These preparations contain vancomycin or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof and polyethylene glycol.
