PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a portable electronic equipment capable of speeding up and simplifying processing even when a USB connector is used also as a connector for connecting an external power supply. SOLUTION: The portable electronic equipment is provided with the USB connector 4, a USB controller 6 for executing prescribed data communication processing following data communication with a personal computer(PC) 2 connected to the connector 4 and a main CPU 7 for executing equipment operation processing for normal equipment operation and allowed to receive power supply from the PC 2 or an external power supply 3. The main CPU 7 discriminates a power supply source, allows the controller 6 to execute the prescribed data communication processing in a state receiving power from the PC 2 or execute the prescribed equipment operation processing in a state receiving power from the external power supply 3.
