The stiffening assembly for a human knee joint prosthesis has a tibia shaft (13) and a femur shaft (14), with a connecting linkage (2) at the tibia side and a connecting linkage (1) at the femur side. An anchor screw (11) locks the tibia linkage (2) to the tibia shaft (13) and an anchor screw (12) locks the femur linkage (1) to the femur shaft (14). An angled screw (34) holds the connecting linkages (1,2) together. The connecting linkages (1,2) are held together in a positive and a press fit, to lie together at their flat sections (3,4) and in a positive fit at their curved sections (5,6).
