PURPOSE: An external bus interface is provided to enable an MCU to freely convert a LittleEndian mode or a BigEndian mode by arbitrarily converting a memory format according to a fixed control signal. CONSTITUTION: An external bus interface is composed of an address path unit(101), a data input path unit(102) and a data output path unit(103). The address path unit(101) outputs an address inputted through a D-RAM, a static memory and a bus line to an external output pad. The data input path unit(102) converts a data input signal operated from a LittleEndian memory format according to a BigEndian mode operation control signal into a BigEndian memory format. The data output path unit(103) converts a data output signal operated from the BigEndian mode operation control signal into the BigEndian memory format.
