The brake has a brake disc (4) and two brake shoes (2) loaded by pistons (8). The brake shoes are held in a guide unit, turnable about an axis orthogonal to the brake disc. Each brake shoe has a cylindrical cross section and consists of a friction material body without carrier plate. The guide unit consists of a brake holder (6), and the brake shoes are held turnable and axially moveable. The brake shoes have a friction-reducing coating.
