An adhesion inhibiting agent (66) is added or applied to a pixel structure precursor (58a) which is a precursor of a pixel structure (58). As a result, when the pixel structure precursor (58a) is pressed against a light guide plate (14) and cured, the pixel structure precursor (58a) is not bonded to the light guide plate (14). The gap between the pixel structure (58) and the light guide plate (14) is narrowed by the presence of the adhesive inhibiting agent (66), and therefore the pixel structure (58) is pressed reliably against the light guide plate (14) even when the display (50) is in a light-emitting state. The adhesion inhibiting agent inhibits the pixel structure (58) from being bonded to the light guide plate (14) while the display (50) is operated. A preferred example of the adhesion inhibiting agent (66) is a silicone material.
