A process for de-acidifying of lakes from mining and open-cast mining after closing of the mines, comprises whirling and suspending the lake sediment, which contains ashes from the mining process and withdrawing the water-ashes suspension into an intermediate storage and treatment system. There the water is treated and then re-introduced into the lake.
