The monitoring and evaluation method registers the signal conditions of the signals provided by a number of signal sources, at successive evaluation time points, using a corresponding number of registers (TR1,TR2,TR3). The latter have respective register locations for each of the signal sources, allowing a bit-by-bit parity check between the signal conditions for the signals from the same source, for controlling a validity register (VR) and a new value condition register (NR), the last stable condition of the signals provided by the monitored signals sources indicated by a display condition register (LR).
