METHOD FOR COLORING MOTHER-OF-PEARL

PURPOSE: A method for coloring mother-of-pearl to use a mixed solution of alcohol, and iodine is provided, therefore, it is possible to color the surface of mother-of-pearl without change in quality and make ornament plates of diverse patterns. CONSTITUTION: A method for coloring mother-of-pearl comprises the steps of: (i) a first step to prepare a mixed solution by mixing cancho and iodine 5g in alcohol 400cc; (ii) a second step to soak mother-of-pearl in the mixed solution for 7-10 days; and (iii) a third step to dry the matured mother-of-pearl through natural evaporation. Colored mother-of-pearl is used by cut in sash type of 1-2mm width.
