A neurosurgical guide device comprising a tube 1 having a head attached to one end thereof, the head having a passageway in communication with the bore of the tube and which terminates in an opening 3 on the outer surface. The head has one or more formations on its external surface 2 for securing the device in a hole formed in the skull. The head also has a slot which extends laterally of the longitudinal axis of the tube from the passageway to an outer surface of the head. The junction 4 between the passageway of the head and the slot is such that any instrument inserted into the device can have its protruding end located within the slot. |
