Continuous process for producing a silicon resin

A process for making a silicon resin includes the steps of substantially continuously polymerizing sodium silicate in an aqueous medium and in the presence of acid to form a silica hydrosol, substantially continuously quenching the silica hydrosol with alcohol and substantially continuously capping the quenched silica hydrosol in a reaction mixture comprising water and an organic solvent, siloxane fluid or mixture thereof with an organosilicon capping compound to form the silicon resin.
