<p>An outrigger assembly (40a,40b,42a,42b) useful for supporting and stabilizing a mobile work machine (20), such as a vehicle-mounted telescopic belt conveyor (22), while the work machine (20) is operating. The outrigger assembly (40a,40b,42a,42b) includes a stationary support housing (44) mounted to the vehicle body and a telescoping inner housing (46) that is movable into and out of the support housing (44). A leg assembly (48), in turn, telescopes into and out of the inner housing (46) and includes a leg member (50) that is pivotally mounted to a mounting beam (54) of the leg assembly (48). The leg member (50) includes a support pad (56) that contacts the ground when the leg member (50) is in its ground-engaging position and covers the opening to the inner housing (46) when the leg assembly (48) is in its fully retracted position. <IMAGE></p> |
