PURPOSE: A very high-speed digital subscriber line having a function of automatically detecting an input signal is provided to reduce the number of elements and the size of modules necessary for a very high-speed digital subscriber line interface module. CONSTITUTION: A reference clock counter(610) counts reference clocks used in a very high-speed digital subscriber line interface module. A plurality of input signal counters(620,630) receive a plurality of input signals having different transfer rate for counting the input signals respectively. A clock selection unit(640) generates a clock selection signal for receiving the input signal corresponding to the input signal counter if the reference clock counter achieves the fixed value. A clock supply unit supplies a clock indicated by the clock selection signal to a clock for receiving the input signal.
