SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR DELIVERING HYBRID MAIL USING WEB

PURPOSE: A system and method for delivering a hybrid mail using a web is provided to transmits a mail rapidly and to reduce a delivery cost by selecting a post office located in the most adjacent place and transmitting a mail to a receiver by the post office after confirming a forgery/alteration of the mail when a transmitter transmits the mail to an electronic mail server through a web. CONSTITUTION: If a transmitter prepares a mail and transmits the mail to a web server(12) through the Internet, the web server(12) obtains an E-mail address of a post office to be received the mail using transmitter information as a zip code and transmits the mail to a front agent(11). The front agent(11) prepares a message in accordance with a multi-purpose Internet mail extension(MIME) with respect to the mail, and signs to the MIME message using a secret signature key received from a certification office(16). In addition, the front agent(11) creates total mail(contents body + control body + mail header), and transmits the total mail to the web server(12) by a protocol as a hyper text transfer protocol(HTTP). A CGI program of the web server(12) has routing information based on the zip code and may create an E-mail address corresponded to a zip code of a receiver using the routing information. The mail received from a web browser is transmitted to a mail server(15) using a simple mail transfer protocol(SMPT). A program installed in the end agent(14) receives a mail transmitting to the post office out of the mails received in the mail server(15) using a post office protocol 3(POP3). The end agent(14) analyzes the contents of the received mail and confirms a forgery/alteration of a contents body using a signature publication key of the transmitter. If any forgery/alteration does not exist, the end agent(14) prints and encloses the addresses and contents of the transmitter and the receiver on an envelope. The envelope having the addresses and contents is transmitted to the receiver.
