PURPOSE: A quality measurement method of a vocoder is provided to automatically measure the quality of a vocoder through a BSM(Base Station Management) and selector of a control station in a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access)-type digital mobile communication system. CONSTITUTION: In case that a user inputs the quality measurement command, a BSM(Base Station Management) requires the quality measurement of a vocoder to a selector. Then, the selector transmits a test packet to the corresponding vocoder according to the quality measurement command of the BSM. The vocoder processes the test packet transmitted from the selector through a bypass mode and transmits the test packet of the bypass mode to the selector again. The selector compares the test packet transmitted to the vocoder with the test packet received from the vocoder. If the transceived test packets are not identical to each other, the selector regards the compared result as an error. Then, the selector reloads a corresponding code of the vocoder or blocks the corresponding vocoder not to be used as the call channel resource.
