PURPOSE: A cooling structure of a cylinder head is provided to promptly cool the hot lower part of a cylinder head. CONSTITUTION: Rib type cutoff members(10,11,12) are protruded onto walls(8,9) of intake and exhaust ports(3,4). The cutoff members and a sidewall(13) of a cylinder head(1) contract a cooling water passage. When cooling water flowing into a water jacket(2) from a cylinder block performs cooling while rising between the intake port and the exhaust port, gaps(14,15) between two cutoff members(10,11) and a nozzle(7) and a gap(16) between the other cutoff member(12) and the sidewall restrains the rise of the cooling water. Thus, most of the cooling water remains in the lower part of the cylinder head so that the lower part of the cylinder head is cooled promptly.
