PURPOSE: A method for reducing the accumulation of jumpers on a telephone office distribution board is provided to minimize the accumulation of jumpers by replacing long-span jumpers, causing the jumper accumulation of distribution boards, with short-span jumpers under generic computing environments. CONSTITUTION: Based on the jumper configuration data of a single-sided distribution board(401), a CPU makes out a list of jumpers crossing the center of the distribution board area(402). For the jumpers crossing the central separation line of the distribution board, the CPU replaces inside lines with empty inside lines in the area of outside lines(403). The CPU divides the distribution board into two distribution board areas, right and left, on the basis of the central separation line, until no more separation can be allowed as the distribution board is separated into the minimum distribution board areas(404,405).
