PURPOSE: An elevator display device and a method thereof are provided to reduce failure rates caused by elements with decreasing element number with realizing on a single chip a function of shift register used for changing serial data into parallel and to reduce power consumption. CONSTITUTION: An input data interface unit(1) processes a signal input from a car controller or an elevating controller to convert into a signal level recognizable by a digital element and shift register units receive serial data from an input data interface unit to synchronize to a clock signal for sequentially outputting parallel signals. Herein, the shift register unit accepts serial data(S3) from the interface unit to output into the parallel signal and the shift register unit receives serial data to convert into the parallel signal for output. Thereafter, parallel signal latch units(3A,3B,3C) accept parallel signals of the shift register units and latch to output the latched parallel signals upon input of a data end signal(S2).
