ALLOFERON-IMMUNOMODULATORY PEPTIDE

PURPOSE: Provided is alloferon, an immunomodulatory peptide, which controls immune systems in human beings and animals by specifically activating the activities against virus, bacteria, and cancer. CONSTITUTION: Alloferon has the following formula (1): X1-His-Gly-X2-His-Gly-Val-X3; and is composed of up to 30 residues of amino acids. In the formula (1), X1 is nothing or at least one residue of an amino acid; X2 is a peptide bond or at least one residue of an amino acid; X3 is nothing or at least one residue of an amino acid. And alloferon is obtained by the following steps of: i) infecting larva of Callipora vicina with E. coli and Micrococcus luteus and collecting blood lymph of the larva; ii) centrifuging the lymph and putting the lymph on the columns of Sep-Pak C18 chromatography; and iii) purifying products from the columns and separating peptides showing immune activities.
