PURPOSE: A deflection yoke for a cathode ray tube is provided to maintain a deflection sensitivity of the deflection yoke by controlling a leakage magnetic field of the deflection yoke. CONSTITUTION: The deflection yoke for a cathode ray tube includes a horizontal deflection coil(31) and a vertical deflection coil, each of which is a type of half mussel. The horizontal deflection coil(31) and the vertical deflection include a screen flange, the first neck flange(31b), the second neck flange(31c), and a main deflection part(31d), respectively. The main deflection part(31d) connects the screen flange and the first neck flange(31b) with each other. The ratio of a vertical width(h) of the first neck flange(31b) to a horizontal width(1) of the second neck flange(31c) is a predetermined value. Preferably, The ratio of the vertical width(h) of the first neck flange(31b) to the horizontal width(1) of the second neck flange(31c) is 0.5 through 0.2.
