PURPOSE: A system and method for providing intelligent information is provided to interwork an intelligent network and the Internet by adding a control procedure for matching the Internet and a service for interworking the Internet. CONSTITUTION: An Internet matching unit receives an Internet connection identifier(ICI) and a service control function ID(SCF ID) an Internet interworking gateway(200). The Internet matching unit stores an Internet connection identifier ID and a control system ID in a data storing unit, and allocates the data ID for identifying the stored data(202). In addition, the Internet matching unit informs the receiving of an Internet interworking service requesting the Internet interworking gateway to a service controller(204). The service controller stores the Internet connection identifier ID and the data ID in a table, and requests a transform request instruction(TRI) to an intelligent network application protocol(206). The service controller searches the corresponding ID and a channel ID and requests a media conversion to a special resource processing unit and operates a timer for confirming a response time excess from the special resource processing unit(208). The service controller requests a special resource report and an error transmission to the intelligent network application protocol in accordance with a media conversion result of the special resource processing unit, and requests a deletion of data by transmitting the corresponding data ID to the Internet matching unit(210).
