PURPOSE: A method for setting up a call in a mobile communication system is provided so that an MS(Mobile Station) executing radio interface standard functions can put a paging identifier in a paging message and efficiently execute the connection of an incoming call. CONSTITUTION: A BSC(Base Station Controller) transfers a paging request to a BS(Base Station)(S51). Receiving the paging request, the BS transmits a paging message to MSs through a paging channel(S52). At this moment, the BS carries the paging message with the paging ID transmitted from an MSC(Mobile Switching Center). Among many MSs receiving the paging message, the MS corresponding to the MS paging ID contained in the paging message responds to it and transmits a paging response message for incoming call setup with its own paging ID to the BS(S53). As the BS transmits the paging response message containing the paging ID to the BSC and the BSC transmits it to the MSC, the incoming call is set up according to succeeding call processing procedures(S54).
