The cable roller has a rotatable outer ring (2) supported on an inner ring (1), which is centred over the roller. A bearing (4) is arranged between the inner and outer rings. The outer ring has a profiled section (3) to hold the cable with a cable holder channel (5) and a fixing unit (6). The profiled section and the outer ring are formed as separate parts, with the profiled section releasably fixed to the outside of the outer ring.
