PURPOSE: A device for controlling the output of an over-the-range is provided cook foodstuff with the maximum output corresponding to the amount of available currents by variably controlling the output of an over-the-range. CONSTITUTION: An output control device of an over-the-range includes: a key input unit(10); an available current detecting unit(30) detecting the amount of available currents; a microcomputer(20) controlling the maximum output of a magnetron(50) in 1.2KW or 1.0KW corresponding to the amount of currents detected by the available current detecting unit; an output control unit(40) varying the output of the magnetron according to the control output of the microcomputer; a power switching unit(70); and a ventilating motor(60). As the maximum output is variable, cooking speed is increased to 20-30%. Therefore, the efficiency of cooking is improved.
