PURPOSE: A coating agent being coated on the tip end of a coated electrode is provided which improves an arc starting property, promotes an early stabilization of the arc and is helpful to obtain a healthy welding part. CONSTITUTION: In the coating agent of a coated electrode comprising a powder mixture and a binder, the powder mixture comprises 90-99% of a graphite, wherein more than 90% of the graphite has a particle size of not more than 44 micrometers, based on the total weight of the graphite, and 1-10% of an aluminum powder. And the binder is a water glass, wherein the molar ratio of SiO2 to Na2O+K2O is 2.9-3.5. |
