PURPOSE: An ATM performance data real time collecting apparatus and a method for a high speed information communication network are provided to implement a real time data collection by designing a system independently from other functions with respect to a performance data collection of a high speed information communication network and processing a collecting process into three processes, so that a network operator takes a proper action before an error occurs due to an over traffic load by checking a traffic status of a network. CONSTITUTION: Sub-networks(1,2,3) separate a high speed communication network. A performance data transfer apparatus(11) includes a performance data transfer(111) installed in each sub-network for collecting and transferring a performance data generated in a sub-network. A performance data server(4) stores a performance data transferred from the performance data transfer apparatus(11). The performance data server(4) includes a performance data distributor(41) which receives a performance data from the performance data transfer apparatus(11) and checks there is an error in the data. If there is an error, a recollection is requested. If there is not an error, the table is distributed based on the set distribution method.
