APPARATUS FOR COOLING ELECTRODE ROD OF ELECTRIC FURNACE

PURPOSE: An apparatus for cooling an electrode rod of an electric furnace is provided to prevent a local cooling and guarantee a uniform cooling by uniformly injecting a cooling water. CONSTITUTION: An inside cooling water ring(20) surrounds an outer peripheral surface of an electrode rod(100). The cooling water ring(20) is connected to a pipe(10) on an outer side thereof. The pipe allows a cooling water to be passed therethrough. The inside cooling water ring(20) has an opening part(21) on a front surface of an inside thereof. An outside cooling water ring(30) surrounds the opening part of the inside cooling water ring(20). A plurality of nozzles(31) are formed toward the electrode rod(100). The outside cooling water ring(30) has the plurality of nozzles on an inside surface thereof at predetermined intervals. A slide part maintains an air tight condition of the inside cooling water ring(20) and the outside cooling water ring(30) and makes the outside cooling water ring(30) being slide against to the inside cooling water ring(20). A driving part rotates the outside cooling water ring(30) along the outer peripheral surface of the electrode rod(100).
