PURPOSE: A field emission display element and method of producing the same by using carbon nanotube are provided to effectively concentrate electric field by using CNT(Carbon Nanotube). CONSTITUTION: The field emission display element comprises a structure including a conductive layer(38) and a catalytic transition metal layer(39); and a carbon nanotube emitter(40) for emitting an electron, the carbon nanotube emitter(40) being formed on the catalytic transition metal layer(39). The field emission display element further comprises an anode(36) for supplying the carbon nanotube emitter(40) with the electron through the structure; a gate electrode(44) for applying a field at a periphery of the carbon nanotube emitter(40); and an insulated layer(42) formed between the anode(36) and the gate electrode(44). The structure including the conductive layer(38) and the catalytic transition metal layer(39) has a conical shape.
