PURPOSE: An apparatus for and a method for collecting vehicle traffic information using a mobile communication network are provided to get vehicle traffic information by using vehicle speed sensor and to provide the information to the vehicle traffic information center. CONSTITUTION: A sensor(202) converts the obtained vehicle traffic information into radio network signal and transmits the signal to a radio network. The radio network transmits the converted vehicle traffic information to a vehicle traffic center(204). The center collects and processes the received vehicle traffic information.
