PURPOSE: A door lock device using private data of a handheld radio terminal and a controlling method thereof are provided to open/close door by using private data of handheld wireless terminal equipment. CONSTITUTION: In the door lock device(200) using private data of a handheld radio terminal equipment, a handheld radio terminal interface unit(223) is fixed to a proper place of the door lock device, interfacing with the handheld radio terminal(100) when the handheld radio terminal is mounted. A door lock mechanism performs the mechanism of operating the door lock device by starting/closing to lock the door according to a predetermined control. A memory stores private data of the handheld radio terminal capable of controlling the door lock device. If the handheld radio terminal interface unit detects that the handheld radio terminal is mounted, an authorization request message is sent to the radio terminal. If the received private data in the terminal are the registered one, the status of the door lock is given from the user and according to the status of the door lock, a control unit operates the door lock mechanism.
